English: University Research Project
Grade 9 English students completed University Research Projects designed to encourage them to think about their future educational and career pathways. Students chose between researching a potential university major or designing a brochure for their ideal university, applying their creativity while developing important academic skills.
Through this project, students strengthened their research, writing, presentation, and design abilities while exploring personal interests, career opportunities, and university life. The final products demonstrated thoughtful planning, creativity, and an increased awareness of future educational possibilities.
Forensic Science: Fingerprint Lab
Grade 9 Forensic Science students stepped into the role of crime scene investigators as they explored one of the most important tools used in forensic analysis: fingerprints. Using ink and recording techniques, students collected and examined their own fingerprints, identifying common patterns such as loops, whorls, and arches.
Through this practical investigation, students learned how fingerprints can be used to identify individuals and analyse evidence. The activity developed key scientific skills including observation, data recording, attention to detail, and analytical thinking while providing an engaging introduction to the world of forensic science.
